beginners intro of Gaslands co/op

these past several days my girlfriend was staying with me since she was having her place get repainted.
so i figured the other night to show and teach her how to play Gaslands.
such a mistake on my part.
just a small set up, using a 3x3 mat with some primed 40k Kill Team terrain pieces and racing gates.
after gate one vehicle weapons become active and ready to fire.

with the cars lined up i got the pole position and moved first.
we didn't use sponsor perks or any real advanced rules, just wanted to show her,
the basic move, fire and of course, collision.

her very first dice roll of the game.
two hazards and a slide. to me this was great so i had to take a pic.
at this point i talked about "Pushing It" with the dice.

with my first car out in front, my girlfriend took her car which is ironically named as her,
Rita, "55 Chevy armed with rockets,
and swerves out in front of my next car. honestly in my head this is the turning point of everything going south.

so i had to make some adjustments on how i wanted to move since i couldn't move forward.
still ended up clipping her.

Rita hits the junk pile in the middle of the way to get to Gate One.

her second car, Eleanor was stuck behind and was able to finally move.
i had to do some good turning to get my other car back into the race for Gate One.

Rita was able to cross Gate One first.
WEAPONS ONLINE and HOT!!

everyone is able to cross the first gate.
i was able to take some handgun shots to Rita and inflict some damage.
i wiped out with my Impala and my girl thought is was great to spin me in the wrong direction.

Rita works out range for her rockets and was able to deal some damage to my one car that
i put into reverse to save my other car.

with my one car that i went reverse, i went forward to get closer and opened up with my minigun and did enough damage to wreck her but since she still had ammo tokens her explosion did more damage to my Impala.

after all the carnage i am pleased to say she had fun and is eager to play again. I told her about Mishkin weapons and now she's keen on trying that sponsor team. i am afraid.

    Awesome! Get her the Mishkin Lightning Arc Cannon, I enjoyed using that last game.

Grishnug and the Red Fangs (edited 3/3/24)

continuing working on my orc warband. once again i continued using the slapchop painting method just to get several more painted in a short amount time. since i am using two sets of the Wizkids orc box sets i will have multiple orcs with same armor sculpts and weapons. when i painted these guys i mainly used a red and green for any cloth on their armor. i did convert some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another figure armed the same way. with several of them i used a lighter to some what melt and soften the plastic to either bend wrists/hands holding weapons or even clipped some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another. the orc warband lead by the self proclaimed king of the orcs, Grishnug. which was the name of my orc hunter from back in my days of World of Warcraft. ( edit: several days after i made this post i got the rest of the Wizkids orcs finished. in all of their glory, the entire w arband. ) the orc king leads a few into battle against a huge spider

 when i started collecting pulp figures and such few years ago, one of the stories i wanted to tell through tabletop wargaming were the tales of H.P. Lovecraft and the cosmic horrors he created. so after much sitting on the idea of actually getting a figure i came across a shop on Etsy.com that had several Lovecraftian creatures. so i placed an order with TranscendentalPrints. and within eight days i had in my hands on of the best 3-d printed figures i have ever seen. click here to check out TranscendentalPrints page on Etsy.com. when i was in the process of ordering this figure i did sort of messed up on the size and i went with a 75mm tall. after i got the figure and took a good look at it i should have gone with a 100mm. it would have made him look more dominate on the tabletop.   according to the shop Etsy page the figure is made out of resin, but from past experiences with resin i had to wash the model with hot water and soap, but with this i literally took it from the shipping p

Professor's Missing Daughter - Fistful of Lead

recently i ordered several desert buildings to be made from a shop on Etsy. the folks at Panhandle3d made these awesome buildings. at a decent price and fast delivery i couldn't recommend anyone else. and very nice to paint on to. but anyways nothing wrong with a shameless plug for a great shop. wanted to put together a quick game me and the lady played the other night. the Professor's daughter was being held somewhere. a group of marauding locals are looking to cash in on the bounty and a group of Her Majesty's finest sent to retrieve her at any cost. once either side has capture the daughter they must take her back to their deployment area to win. layout of the table another view of the table, Rita setting up her locals (playing the villains for a change). few locals going around a buildings towards an abandoned tank. her leader going out around searching for the missing daughter. the Commodore peering down the street looking at what could be his last moment in life. &quo
