25k milestone!! a thank you letter.

just wanted to throw this out there to thank to all those who comes across my little hobby blog. those who reads and enjoys my posts about the different things i do in the hobby of table top wargames and rpg's, i appreciate it. for folks around the world to view my blog and its posts over 25k times is awesome. i don't promote it any real way nor to i throw it out there on a regular basis on forums or social media. i started this little thing back in 2019. there would of been more posts but for some reason Blogspot had a hiccup and i thought i screwed up and deleted some. but mainly created this blog to show my work and/or what i do in my spare time to friends locally and even those on the other side of the world that i know from when i used to play World of Warcraft. my most popular posts are mainly my 40k kill team posts and the homebrew Space Hulk rules for additional characters and troop types for the game. kinda funny how i don't play those games anymore but it's al

into the Wild West

Image
back in December 2023 i was gifted with a set of miniatures from the Zombicide: Undead or Alive board game. which is a wild west theme this time around. these figures are really sculpted well and made of good plastic. i will mainly use these for Fistful of Lead: Wild West game, which means some i will have to clip and convert. these are the first miniatures i've done and not used the Citadel Nuln Oil Gloss since pretty much Games Workshop discontinued it. but i wanted to try something else. i want to have them look like the gritty and dirty as they were back then in the 1800's. i'll spray them with a varnish to protect the paint so maybe they'll get a gloss somewhat. the first batch i got based and completed. most likely i'll keep the names of the characters from the Zombicide game for any future Fistful of Lead game battle reports. these are part of my 3mm base collection so they'll fit with the zombies i did awhile back and some aliens i want to do in the fut

World of Druidcraft

so the story goes is that a certain character was in possession of a certain powerful artifact in our D&D campaign and was taken out and murdered for the powerful artifact. as time went on Rita was asking about the when and why's on her druid character and curious on her return. this past weekend the wood elf druid's return was revealed and so was her whole look and abilities. now a member of the druid circle of the Wildfire, her druid, Breena now is able to cast fire spells and rain down havoc.   with her new look and such, i also painted and added a giant eagle as a fire hawk. when she reaches level eight she will be able to wild shape into this beast. i wanted to paint it as if it was a risen phoenix, as so did Rita's character was resurrected from flames and fire. i am extremely pleased how the blending of the red, yellow and orange came out. i never really do much blending but this came out really cool. Rita was really happy when this miniature hit the table. anot

"They're coming to get you, Comrade!" - Fistful of Lead

finally made some time aside to put together a game of Fistful of Lead. i let Rita to throw together a table for us to game on, and in the end i have to say she did fairly well setting it up. might make her do the set ups from now on. not really having a particular scenario in mind, i thought it would of been funny of doing some kind of a zombie horde game like Night of the living Dead movie. so to make it intense for both of us, every time an Ace or Joker card was played player rolls a d6 to determine which building d3 zombies will be spawning from. and at the end of the turn they will move and perform actions. the objective is to get to the radio truck in the middle of town, and get out of Dodge! layout of the table. the motley group of heroes, Han Solomon, Morado (group's leader), Rita Lynn, Harrison Jones, and Thornton Lee. the Trans-Serbian Renegades, Igor, the Countess Angelina Oksana Kasamir, the Count Chernikov Kasamir and his faithful hound, Bella, the Count's right h

few years ago, good friend gave me several pieces of terrain and turned out to be a classic graveyard from Games Workshop. i painted the gravestones and crypts first but did nothing with the actual walls and gate for a long time until this past week. i figured since the next D&D session is going to take place in a graveyard i might as well get this painted and completed. like usual i didn't really do details i just wanted it done. i did paint ALL the skulls. this was the last section of the graveyard i had to paint and pretty much at this point i was tired of painting skulls so i busted out a section of fence to avoid painting them. i used a picture to create one piece of terrain from three pieces. and i screwed up and glued the gate piece backwards. an old hag is ambushed by a few vengeful spirits. the front gate from the inside of the graveyard. when i went to take the gates off the plastic sprue, i accidentally cut into the gate so when i would glue it to the gateway it woul

dragonborns and a knight

Image
took a little time from blogging because i really didn't have anything new to show or anything really happening besides playing Dungeons and Dragons. the group i have been running is just about to finish their first campaign of adventures and i pretty much spent the last month mapping out the finale of it all. i did manage a nice statue of a knight of sorts a few weeks back. taking a metal Grail Knight miniature from the classic GW Warhammer Bretonnian miniature line. painting it black base coat and then a drybrush heavy with an antique gold. making sure i had a shield that matches the grail knight's helm and the horse's headpiece was kinda nerve wracking. i didn't think to check to make sure i had all three before i started to put it all together. with our D&D group's first campaign coming to an end, i gave the option to the players to create another character. Lindsey asked if she could make a druid, so she went with a dragonborn druid. when i went to paint i
