beginners intro of Perilous Tales

Image
awhile back i came across another game from Mike Hutchinson, the author of Gaslands and other games. this game, Perilous Tales is heavy based on the pulp genre and the campy mystery and horror movies you would see during the 40's all the way much into the 70's in my opinion. as much as i love Fistful of Lead, i was looking for a good pulp tabletop miniature game and also i can play not only with others but also solo. the game is still in beta play testing but the rules can be downloaded at planet smasher games.com . figured for my first game i would dig out my ancient mummies and give a go and start to learn this game. i know i made quite of errors along the way but either way it was fun. layout of the playing area. one of the reason why i really like this game is the area needed for game play. only really need 2x2 square area.   the Hell Hounds were dispatched to search for ancient artifacts within the ruins of a dig site. the Hell Hounds are consist of: Sgt.  past few days now i have my pulp miniatures all dug and messing around with them, and had a neat idea of a german unit that had sort of a secret. and after them were a group of hunters in a certain field of expertise that would be wolf hunting. instead of cleaning up after my game featuring the Shadow to make room for this weekend D&D game session, i instead rearranged some buildings and such got another game in. layout of the table. to lead this group in the service of His Majesty is Harrison Jones, Sir Jonathan Hyde II , British Army, Ret., Lucian Van Pelt, renowned hunter, Professor Graham Miller, members of Knights of the Crescent Moon, and a few hunting dogs. the  Sturmwölfe, the alpha, Ulric Wulfstan, the beta, Landuin Wulfomir, Günther Hedenulf, Franz Swithwulf, and few Sturmwölfe guards. battle lines are drawn in the streets in the middle of the city. guards open fire on the hunting dogs while Van Pelt takes aim for Swithwulf and scores a wound. acting cautiously.... ....w

In the City, Shadows Lurk - Fistful of Lead

wanted to play out a scenario of a superhero of sorts against others. using the Wiley Games Fistful of Lead rules, giving the main hero a few extra traits and rules to make him just a little bit better than those he is fighting against. layout of the table. the Shadow, armed with two pistols and cunning know-how. Karim Jafar, leader of the cult, the Thousand Sons. with some loyal cult followers. the Shadow makes his way across rooftops. cult henchmen make their way across town. the Shadow goes to make the first attack and fails. not a good way to start the game off. the henchmen start to close in, few of them run out of ammo. the Shadow leaps into close quarter combat. a cult henchman took an opportunity to shoot, only to hit his own fellow. the Shadow goes to strike one of the cult followers, and rolls very impressive. the rest of the cult henchmen forms a line and fires upon the Shadow. missing the hero and taking out their own men. by this point, the Shadow did get wounded, but he s

recently i found more miniatures that need much love and paint. and i have to say after painting these i wish i still had my old Bretonnians from back in the day. Bertrand the Brigand and his Faithful Comrades, or what my girlfriend calls them, the Men in Tights. section featuring them from the 1999 Annual catalog. as i was looking these up i was also flipping through the pages of other Warhammer races that were out at this time when these were released. good times! to keep Gui Le Gros like a poor friar, i painted him with different shades of browns as such, and then also not have his ale barrel match his clothing, or least try not to. i painted Bertrand the Brigand with the usual greens as Robin Hood would of been. i went with a red feather in his cap and also carried this motif when i went to paint Hugo Le Petit. Hugo Le Petit was painted pretty much like Bertrand. what makes him stand out is i went with making Hugo a redhead. i found this rather small miniature in a box of mixed fig
