lrn2play: Forbidden Psalm - Endless Horrors from Between the Stars

after finding Forbidden Psalm i saw on Wargames Vault other supplements that falls under
the Forbidden Psalm title that is in relation with the role-playing game, MÖRK BORG.

the one that caught my attention the most was one called Endless Horrors from Between the Stars.
pretty much uses the same game mechanic and rules as Forbidden Psalm just with
a few new mechanics like rituals and summoning horrors.

the premise with this title is instead of trying to save the world from ending,
you have a cult that is trying to usher in the end of the world.
which i thought was funny and awesome.
you get to play as real villains and bring forth the apocalypse basically.
through infamy and rituals you are able to summon an avatar of what your cult worships.

after reading the basic rules and such i almost immediately create a cult and
what was created i almost had to sit back and laugh.
rolling d100, the desire of my endless horror is to sit on a throne of skulls,
and when my avatar downs a model, it auto-kills them outright.
after reading everything i basically sat back and thought,
i worship Khorne from Warhammer. HAHA!!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!

Followers of An'ggrath.
using the color scheme one would paint on their Khorne Berserkers for Warhammer 40k,
i went with different shades of browns but for their cowls and hoods i used red.
using Army Painter Speedpaint, as a joke i used a shade of red called,
Slaughter Red.

Kharn the Blackheart, leader of the cult.

Vognim and Akor.

Worm and Crull the Angry, the icon bearer of the cult.

now in Endless Horrors from Between the Stars, you don't have to just play the bad guys.
you can play as the hero and try to save the world.
depending on the timeline you want to go with you can create a group of knights or
investigators.

there are some minor rule adjustments to be made when playing from a villainous point
of view to a heroic one.
when playing a scenario there are the main cultist objectives and such but there are the
knights/investigators objectives that need to be met if you decide to play as them.

and of course since i had the extra miniatures and stuff,
i did make myself a group of knights.

Knightly Order of the Ignis Lacert.
i went with a blue/green color scheme and tried to make them look heroic.

Sir Johfit Bradafon, leader of the knights.

Geraint Sentwine and "old man" Balin.

Arnulf and Branwyn

hopefully in the near future i can get some fantasy buildings and some scattered terrain
for a town setting,
then maybe start a campaign using the cultists, or both factions at the same time and
see how much hell raising and blood spilling can be done.

  1. Two very nice looking warbands, great painting.
Did you use Frostgrave Cultists? Those hooded heads look vaguely familiar.
I'm looking forward to reading some reports of the game.

    1. thanks.
everything on the cultists is Frostgrave.
heads are from the cultist set.
bodies are from the soldier set.
and the arms are from either wizard or knight sets.
skulls are from Warhammer Skulls pack, and the hands/chains they are attached with are from the Frostgrave cultist set also.

  2. What an excellent pair of warbands, both have lots of character, and the color schemes fit well with their alliance, look forward to seeing how this plays out.
