a little remodeling

the wild western buildings i have bought from Atomic Laser Cut Designs are really
nice and easy to put together but there is one thing that kind of bothered me for some time now.
and that is they all pretty much look the same.

besides the location of the front entrance and the way the front of the building looks,
they all have the same "face."
and yeah i figured it's better this way for production and easy for the company to churn out
product but it's kind of bland.
don't get me wrong i love these and the price is great compared to other 28mm buildings.


so ever since i got my Deth Wizards figures completed i was sucked back into the wild
west genre again and started watching western movies and began ramping up some loose
projects i want to complete,
so Rita and i can play some wild west tabletop.

and after we played our last few games i looked at my buildings and wanted to remodel them
and give them porches like you see in the movies.

i thought about how i would rig up a porch for messing around with popsicle sticks and thin card,
i slept on the idea and one night after work i just went and started building it.
a little over an inch in length and seven popsicle sticks later,
and a few two inch high posts for support.

words.i asked Rita which building i should do next after i remodeled my trading post and she
suggested the sheriff's office.
i kind of kicked that idea around and was gonna do the barbershop but in the end i went ahead
and redid the sheriff's and added two extra posts.

i'll probably do a few more buildings with added porches but not all of them.
i'm definitely looking at adding more buildings to my collection in the next few months.
i kind of want to create a fairly good size of a town.

late night Fistful of Lead: Reloaded

since showing Rita the game of Ruthless, i never cleared the game table. and we had some time off together once again so we had some fun with a late night game. and since there was the wild west terrain still out, i told her to set up a little town and we ended playing some Fistful of Lead: Reloaded. simple game of law versus outlaw. i played as some bank robbing criminals who were looking for a way out of town, and Rita played as the long arm of the law. we haven't played Fistful of Lead in such a long time i figured it would have been nice to dust off the rulebook and give it a go. the table set-up Rita made. trying to get out of Dodge! my poor girl with a rifle and i kept rolling 1's which is out of ammo and turning around and sacrificing a turn to reload. this happened to me three times with this particular character. after Rita quietly positioned a lawman up on a rooftop, i did the same equally quieter. but in the end i would lose him to a rifle shot. in the Reloaded rules...

damn this cold weather

ever since this brittle arctic air swept over the east coast here in the United States i have lost all motivation to do any painting or anything. only played a handful of Dungeons and Dragons with the group and managed to get a handful of MotU figures ready to be painted, but being so cold i haven't even thought of picking up a paintbrush. and work isn't helping with the upcoming schedule changes, i feel like i won't get anything completed for the Paint What You Got challenge. to get me through this winter hell i did manage to come across a new game called Deth Wizards from Snarling Badger Studios. and i can't get enough of this game being a well written solo or 1v1 game. even though i said i was gonna paint my MotU figures for the PWYG challenge, i did manage to get a hold of some plastic sprues of Frostgrave soldiers and cultists to make the npc characters for Deth Wizards and hopefully if the weather cooperates i'll get them painted quickly and in time for the ch...
