once upon a time in the Wild West...

Image
few months ago i was given a chance to go through a haul of miniatures before they were sold and the money went to charity. and for sometime now i've been wanting to dab a little in the wild west genre and so i made a deal with a friend who is gonna get a extra set of the new Zombicide: Wild West game kickstarter character set. but with the chaos taking place with the shipping cargo ships and such, i'm hoping everything is cleared for shipping by March. but anyways few months ago i came across quite a bit  western miniatures. and these miniatures were a bit bigger than the rest of the majority of my collection. so i had to do some research and found out they are of the DeadLands miniature line. so i decided since it would be a little costly to continue to search and collect these figures, i'm just gonna wait for the Zombicide figs and use the Deadlands miniatures in the meantime. have to say, the miniature on the far right, had something sculpted from his mouth and at firs...

another hoard of misc. miniatures

during the summer i acquired a few copies of Dark World board game. knowing that it was a pain in the ass setting up and dismantling, i decided to keep all the miniatures and such. i did use the manticore miniature to create a statue for my middle eastern table set up. and the mummies for my necromancer group for Fistful of Lead game. when i saw this particular figure i wanted it as a leader of some sorts for my blue snake men, as pictured above. need to think of a really cool badass name for this character. and of course i pulled all the skeletons together, real quick paint job and ready to haunt some unlucky bastards. and lastly i came across this miniature that i have no idea what it came from or manufacturer. it looked cool so most likely its going in my cosmic horror collection. finally got around and finished the rats from the classic Necromunda game from Games Workshop. this fellow, so unique being a giant rat with actual arms, i based him on a 20mm base instead of the usual 25m...

Graboids!!!

Image
several weeks ago, a friend surprised me with quite a collection of 3d printed miniatures he did. many months ago i asked him if he was able to do a set of graboids from the movie Tremors. after some thinking i changed my mind and went with the giant worms from Reaper miniatures. but anyways several weeks ago i was gifted with a box of these monsters. now i have to admit the material he uses to 3d print from his work is a pain in the ass to paint, its so porous and such. so i sprayed few coats of Mod Podge on them. which did wonders and sealed in the crevices and whatnot. and did some base coats of black, red for the mouth and tan for the main body. nothing special. did try to get it close to the skin color of the creature as best as i could. a local gambler and his indian companion are being harassed by some small graboids. Rita Lynn stares some the maw of a graboid. several fairly large graboids have surfaced, leaving few men stranded on a rock cliff for awhile.
