loot from Historicon 2025
going into Historicon 2025 i had a very small grocery list of what i really wanted
and what i needed.
and as usual i did spend a little too much than i was budgeting but hell don't we
all go a little overboard from time to time.

got Rita a box of soldiers for her spanish pirate hunters.
probably going to mix the sailor plastic bits with this set for the swords and pistols.

found this fellow in a miscellaneous figure dump bin.
saw him and thought this would be a perfect figure for a half-ogre we created in
our D&D story.
Zug-Zug, the friendly half-ogre that works in a tavern and is half intelligent,
at least enough to add simple numbers and pour ale.

i saw this, the package said "demonic goat" and i bought it.
enough said.

another idol of Cthulhu.
you can never have enough statues of the Elder Ones!

Rita got me this because she knew i wanted to redo or even add more to my pulp
collection, also they have german shepards. haha.
now i can add dogs to my pulp games.

more scattered terrain for my egyptian table set-ups.
also for the Tenfold Dungeons temple sets i have.

some more scattered terrain pieces.
Rita found the nest of eggs and whispered to me,
"a future D&D adventures.."
i love this woman.

a dice set i was not prepared to buy.
Rita wanted them and i caved in.
a d20 next to a normal size d20, i think these are considered weapons
in some situations

the 2016 Magnificent Seven movie figure set.
the only reason why i bought this is obvious i "needed" the Jack Horne character
miniature, he was my favorite character in that movie.

i got Rita a gang of banditos for our wild west games, she always asks if she
can play them.

finally got my hands on a Rooster Cogburn and Jonah Hex figures.
i was so happy when i found that Jonah Hex.

and to round out the loot haul i got some more skull dice, some plastic wooden fences,
and some modeling putty.
now i can work on some certain MotU miniatures.
i also bought several Wizkids D&D miniatures to add to what i have already,
nothing special.
i did however finally buy my first (and really neat) owlbear, lol.
he's a chunky solid piece but really cool.

so of all the back log of stuff to paint and now the new load i just got myself into
i shouldn't be bored with anything for a while.

Sounds like a great haul! And Rita sounds like a woman after my wife's own heart as well. We're lucky men, for sure!
ReplyDeletethank u, and we are lucky guys.
Deletei couldn't ask for anything more, she is a great woman. i thank god every night when i go to sleep for bringing her into my life.
That's a great haul.
ReplyDeleteZug-zug looks like a Heroquest ogre, lucky you.
thanks buddy, i realized after i posted this entry that the ogre is from the new Heroquest game,
Deletethats one board game i wouldn't mind getting again. i had the original back when i was a kid.
I think he's from the Ogre Lord supplement for the original game. It contained several ogres, all using the same body, but with different heads, weapons and colour of plastic to differentiate type.
DeleteThe base is classic Heroquest.
oh dang. I never got my hands on the expansion sets, just the base set.
