beginners intro of Cthulhu: Death May Die co/op

Image
this past weekend i was able to introduce my girlfriend, Rita to probably hands down one of my favorite board games, Cthulhu: Death May Die. to be honest i was not sure how she would take for not being familiar with H.P. Lovecraft material. but in the end i was surprised, she indeed enjoy it very much. layout of the table, before the terror and carnage ensues. we played with five characters starting season one episode one. i was taking Rasputin, Ahmed, and the Kid. and Rita was running with Elizabeth and Borden. also decided to have Cthulhu be the Elder God of this episode. Rita took most of the pics that are featured in this post. did such a good job capturing the exciting hell we all went through. starting the episode cautiously. view of the other floor of the episode. during most of the game there was a very small space that was a popular spot for monsters to hang out. at this moment Rita sent Elizabeth to destroy a lab which in turn becomes a inferno and igniting a fire to all surr

Taking Down the Force Field - FFoL: Galactic Heroes

continuing playing the scenarios out of the FFoL: Galactic Heroes rulebook. this time the heroes need to transport a bomb to blow up the building that holds the generator that shields a prototype machine that would become the Death Star. layout of the table. using my newly constructed large building as the target for the heroic team to destroy. the Galactic Heroes. the villainous henchmen for the Trade Federation. waiting patiently for the right time to attack. transporting the explosives. setting up a defense line. taking pot shots to the heroes. first blood, and out of ammo. safely taking the bomb to its destination but trying to take out some enemies. the crew leader took an early wound but used the R2 unit to take the wound. the heroes taking damage. the henchmen taking positions into taking out the threat from the heroes. all sorts of damage and carnage. desperate melee. at this point of the game there were so many shock counters distributed between the two groups. the crew lead

(more) sci-fi industrial terrain

here as of late i've been really getting into my Star Wars gaming and everytime i pull out my sci-fi terrain i always thought i wanna make a fairly large building, like a center piece. all the buildings i made for my cheap set of terrain i've gotten from Wal-Mart. so i went to Lowe's and picked up a large electrical box. with one semi large piece and a small piece i attached them to the side with two small PVC tubing i saved from work. added some left over game tokens, soda bottle caps, few pieces of MDF bases, few glue bottle caps and one push pin to give the piece some character. front entrance. left wing. right wing. (note the lonely push pin. have no idea why i glued it on. i think i was gonna put several pins in random spots but got side tracked so only one makes it's home on the terrain piece.) rear view. also made one medium size building. and smaller building. used the last of the 50mm square MDF bases to make a tall wall. and i feel my collection of the cheap-

Professor's Missing Daughter - Fistful of Lead

Image
recently i ordered several desert buildings to be made from a shop on Etsy. the folks at Panhandle3d made these awesome buildings. at a decent price and fast delivery i couldn't recommend anyone else. and very nice to paint on to. but anyways nothing wrong with a shameless plug for a great shop. wanted to put together a quick game me and the lady played the other night. the Professor's daughter was being held somewhere. a group of marauding locals are looking to cash in on the bounty and a group of Her Majesty's finest sent to retrieve her at any cost. once either side has capture the daughter they must take her back to their deployment area to win. layout of the table another view of the table, Rita setting up her locals (playing the villains for a change). few locals going around a buildings towards an abandoned tank. her leader going out around searching for the missing daughter. the Commodore peering down the street looking at what could be his last moment in life. &quo

League of Distinguished Gentlemen

my second group of miniatures given to me from another good friend. this time around instead of GI's, i was given a handful of explorers and adventurers. every time i play with these miniatures i start talking in a crappy brit accent. these were rather fun to paint. each miniature almost has it's own characteristic which makes them all more fun to game with. i'll use these when i'm playing either Wiley Games systems or pulp games with my local gaming group.
