Terrorbird

Image
continuing painting for my friend, i was able to finish a terrorbird few days ago.   i picked up some of these for myself. these are some awesome miniatures.  was asked to try to get it close as i can to this pic. gotta love the fact that the every day pet parrot was bigger than a horse killing horses.

...more spiders.....

Image
finished a friend's dungeon spiders. quick and easy. after painting these i kinda wish i had collected a goblin army filled, with forest goblins riding spiders.  icy spiders  lava spiders brown and black spiders

spiders...argh!

Image
as much as i hate spiders, here are these little bastards from Ral Partha. the friend i'm helping paint these only requested the following: 2 brown spiders 2 black spiders 2 blue/icy spiders and 2 orange/fiery spiders once i get the latter two i'll post pics of them, for now here is the black and brown spiders. black spiders. for references on color schemes, i used the models of the spiders from World of Warcraft.  with the icy spiders, most likely will substitute the orange for a light blue base color, and do the leg joints a more darker shade of a light blue color. probably will prime them white and do a blue wash over it and build up the blue colors. brown spider.

Ogres

Image
finished up ogres for my friend. these ogre miniatures are from Gripping Beast miniatures. was asked to keep them in some what of same skin tone, which wasn't hard, but the last one i did was sculpted as it had a lot of hair/fur all over his body. so i just painted it as if it had lots of hair.  primed with Mechanicus Standard Gray this one particular ogre reminded me of Eddie from Iron Maiden least in the face way it was sculpted and i teased my friend i was gonna paint like a skull on the face and stuff. i got a stern no in response.

troll and a rock elemental

Image
first two pieces i have finished for my friend, first off is a rock elemental from North Star Military Figures.  gray primer and then a generous black wash. went back over with a lighter gray to pick out the rock bumps and crevices. then a very light black wash to give a dirty look. next is this troll from Wizkids. this was a first for me, never got to paint a Wizkids miniature before. have to say i enjoyed it and looking forward to collecting some myself. i went over the skin with a human flesh color and then used a semi bright green paint, thinned down with water. went back with the flesh paint and did little highlights on the skin.  the bumps i did with the bright green to make them pop out.

painting project for friend

Image
several weeks ago i asked if any of my gaming buddies needed help getting their heaps of metal and plastics painted. was offered some money for my help and time for my work. so here's pics of the project. first set of miniatures to be painted.  tentacles from a sea creature. pieces are from Ral Partha. Terrorbird, a Ral Partha miniature with wings. while i have 3 of the same miniature..i did not find wings. Ral Partha velociraptors miniatures. haven't decided on a color scheme but did tease my friend, i'm gonna paint one like Blue from Jurassic World. 😀 WizKids Dungeons & Dragons Nolzur's Marvelous Miniature: Troll. this one is gonna be fun to paint.   ogres and rock elemental from Gripping Beast miniatures  spiders could be Ral Partha. these are gonna be interested, having requested different paint schemes from normal browns/blacks, to fire spiders and ice spiders.  unde
