into the Molten Core: a D&D story

Image
as the band of heroes shattered the orb, they regrouped back into the study to find any information on the location of the third and last runestone. "Crinkle Shorts" was animate on investigating the magical mirror. he put his hand into it. knowing its a pathway to somewhere else and also seeing Valkia gone through it he jumped through it. Nafaris also jumped through it. Breena , Nanna and Grungni were against the idea. when out of no where a flash of bright light, a gnome mage appears. she started to ask questions of what has happened and such. knowing what lies beyond the mirror she urged the rest of the group to follow through.... here are some of the highlights..... the party is scattered across a lava scarred landscape. some landing only several feet apart from others and yet a few across wide chasms with the burning lava flowing below with no bridges or ways to go across between the ravines, the party had to rely on their agility to make it across and try to regroup. wi...

elementals and a dinosaur turtle..huh?

i wanted to throw some low level elementals into our D&D campaign game but i wanted a variety of poses for them. i got into my Zombicide: Dark Side figures and decided to base and paint some of the low tier aliens for this project. basic black prime coat and dry brush with Citadel Astorath Red. took a few of the tanker alien figures and painted them the same as the smaller ones. but between the two layers of colors i throw in a layer of dry brushed yellow, give it a little more fiery look. got a good friend of mine Jayson, ( also the man behind the blog page, Doctor Merkury's Lab . a little shameless plug for a buddy. ) to get a fleece blanket made from Walmart of a lava landscape. i do want to touch up some of the foam terrain i have to be more hellish for this set up. just like the cockatrice i did a week or so ago, took this little gem from the Mythic Games board game called Time of Legends: Joan of Arc. i used mainly Citadel's contrast paints for this figure. added som...

Grungni lit his hand with radiant light and grasp a hold of the soldier's exposed spine and crushed it in his hands. only Grungni knew the true meaning behind the request, thus not bothering to explain to the others. upon entering the dilapidated place they are greeted by a servant and brought forth to the master of the Manor. the head master of the Manor was a lich. the lich was able to locate one of the runestones the party is looking for, but he asked for something in return. they had to find his phylactery and destroy it. for once in a very rare moment, the lich was tired of this long tiresome life. he asked the group to destroy his phylactery and inside was a runestone. here are some of the highlights... making their way down into...
