Paint What You Got challenge 2026
after several weeks of freezing weather, crap work schedules and finally feeling a little
bit better, i got what i could get done for the PWYG challenge.
i do feel like i should have done more but real life took over.
some time i will eventually get my last two MotU factions painted, but don't hold your
breathe on it.

towards the end of February i found a new game called Deth Wizards, which totally changed
my decision on what to paint because i bought two boxes of Frostgrave miniatures.
one box of soldiers and one of culstists.
i did do a bit of kitbashing between the plastic sets.

the female wizard on the left i want to use as a new necromancer for a new horde
for Deth Wizards.
she is from the Wildspire Miniature line.
i clipped the top of her staff and added a scythe blade from a classic warhammer skeleton
plastic sprue.
the fellow on the right is an old metal figure that i am not sure about the manufacturer.

some thieves and rogues from the Frostgrave cultist box set.

a few rangers built from the Frostgrave soldier box set.
a group of villagers made from bodies from the cultist box set and heads/arms from the
soldiers box set.

a lonesome orc hunter from Wildspire Miniatures.
i guess this wasn't a failed challenge since i didn't paint any MotU but i did get other things
done like prepping more Wildspire miniatures for painting and possibly adding more cultists
for Dungeons and Dragons.
Excellent eclectic bunch to finish with, they all look fantastic, but the hunter has to be my favourite of the bunch. As for the challenge, plans are always subject to change, as what we want, need, or just want to paint can change constantly ! LOL Thanks for taking part again, it's all the people taking part that makes it a success.
ReplyDeletethanks. I got more in store for this group of minis.
Deletethe orc hunter is pretty cool. I have a few more rangers/hunters of different races to do.
I felt like I could of done more for the challenge. but yeah you're right things change.
Lovely stuff. You've made some great undead from the Frostgrave sprues. I'm looking forward to reading more reports on how they perform in game.
ReplyDeletethanks buddy, unfortunately these are not undead, the frostgrave miniatures above are the AI non-playable characters.
Deletethe undead I'd be using are from mainly Wizkids, Mantic Games, and Next Level Miniatures.
Apologies. I saw the skulls in the first pic. I realise now that those are the masks on the Cultists sprue.
DeleteSo I'll correct my earlier statement. Nice NPCs.
haha, no worries. the one mask does resemble a skull pretty closely.
