lrn2play: Deth Wizards

i watched a video on Youtube maybe over a year ago and it was about playing as a
necromancer and controlling a band of the undead.
and i thought that was kind of interesting but i never acted on it or what-not.
until like a few days ago i was on Wargames Vault.com and remembered the necromancer
game and went to re-watch a few more videos to see if it would be something i would
like to get into.

i bought the pdf and accidentally the pdf file of game cards, but i'll make use of them.
took a day or two and read over the basic rules and created a band of undead minions.

once i got my warband created, i went back to YouTube and watched some more game play
videos to get a good grasp on the rules, which is how i learn better than reading a
book cover to cover.

i watched quite a bit of videos from the channel The Tabletop Engineer Plays and
he goes through a nice campaign of his own for solo play,
which i basically got this game for.

the main thing about this game i truly like is that i get even more mileage out of my
D&D miniatures instead of just using them for Dungeons and Dragons and Sword Weirdos.
i can recycle characters i have created for the role-playing game and use them
in Deth Wizards.

to learn the basic rules i created two warbands of different game play and get a feel of
the main aspect of Deth Wizards.

Sindarus, the Shadowpaw and his minions of great strength.
as a monster master this legacy of necromancy has the benefits of recruiting only strong and
mighty of the undead.
for this starter warband i was able to recruit a giant zombie and a death knight.

Nathaniel Marris, a master of the dreaded  horde.
with this legacy of necromancy, you are able to overwhelm your enemies with an undead horde.
for this warband, there are four skeletons, a zombie, and a wight.

a battle line is drawn throughout the graveyard.
Sindarus takes cover behind a mausoleum, where Marris is in the thick of battle,
managing his horde.

a zombie out around met his end with the unforgiving blade of the death knight.
in the rules a death knight is able to take one low level costing spell.
i took the spell Black Blade, which increases the knight's melee value.

skeletons just hacking away at the giant zombie.
with the incredible amount of damage this giant is able to endure it wasn't long for it to fall.
and sadly it could not deal damage back on it's turn, the dice rolls were not in their favor.

just a matter of time until the giant would fall but it was Marris who used his special
ability called Corpse Bomb.
having one of his own minions as a "living" bomb and exploding dealing damage to
everything within 3 inches of a friend or foe.

a showdown.

Sindarus was finally found hiding in the crypts of what could be possible new recruits.
he was able to defend himself well during the last round of the game.

overall after my first game of learning and getting a feel,
this game has some potential for being a great solo pastime just like Perilous Tales.
i'm excited to read more of the story mode and start a campaign down the road
once i get the rules down and understand more of it.
