lrn2play: Ruthless 1v1

few years back i came across a tabletop game called Ruthless, a wild west skirmish game with literally 2 pages worth of rules, to me that sounds great. a simple game with simple rules with lots of potential fun to be had. over the two years since i found Ruthless i've been distracted with other games, pile of shame to be dealt with, and the Dungeons and Dragons group. on a rare occasion Rita and myself were able to spend a few days off from work together and i took the opportunity to show her Ruthless and in the end we had a fun time. to make it simple we both had four figures equally armed. two had revolvers, one person had a shotgun, and another with a repeating rifle. Rita played the group of characters i made for my ongoing Perilous (western) Tales campaign. i played as a group of outlaws looking to take out her leader and rob the local bank or attempt to. a fellow sneaking along the general store front, while a confrontation is at hand in the alley. my sharpshooter lady trying...

Space Weirdos + MotU = fun times

for some time now i've been writing stats for Space Weirdos using the Masters of the Universe miniatures i have been collecting from CMON's Clash of Eternia board game. i wrote some stat blocks for MotU for Fistful of Lead, but using Space Weirdos seems to fit them the best. spending the good part of my vacation just relaxing i finally pulled out some figures and play tested some of the stats i wrote. after a few turns i have to go back and redo some numbers. but overall it was fun. i only played a few turns solo and i have to say playing solo kinda sucks sometimes because i forget some solo mechanics. maybe hopefully this weekend i can get Rita to play a game or two after the convention. Whiplash charged in without caution and dueled Fisto for a bit until becoming victorious. Stratos was challenged by Clawful and Ninjor. Paint What You Got challenge 2026

after several weeks of freezing weather, crap work schedules and finally feeling a little bit better, i got what i could get done for the PWYG challenge. i do feel like i should have done more but real life took over. some time i will eventually get my last two MotU factions painted, but don't hold your breathe on it. towards the end of February i found a new game called Deth Wizards, which totally changed my decision on what to paint because i bought two boxes of Frostgrave miniatures. one box of soldiers and one of culstists. i did do a bit of kitbashing between the plastic sets. the female wizard on the left i want to use as a new necromancer for a new horde for Deth Wizards. she is from the Wildspire Miniature line. i clipped the top of her staff and added a scythe blade from a classic warhammer skeleton plastic sprue. the fellow on the right is an old metal figure that i am not sure about the manufacturer. some thieves and rogues from the Frostgrave cultist box set. a few rang...
