the Silver Cutlass

back when i bought the Silver Bayonet book i was anxious and excited to dive into it. and then bought a few plastic sets of British and French infantry. after some time the realization is set in painting military uniforms and such, i got kind of overwhelmed and somewhat lost interest in it. but recently i joined the official Silver Bayonet facebook page, i was getting an itch back in myself of giving it another go. then i read a post someone wrote about instead of using napoleonic miniatures would it be ok to use pirate figures instead. after many people were saying that's an idea i thought about it myself. and thought that would be  a great idea. i figured it would be different and easier to paint. and like usual this puts more on the list of things to paint and get done, in addition to the MotU figures to paint, the wild west Perilous Tales plus terrain, and now what ever comes out of this pirate project.    first i got myself the two player starter box set. mainly for ...

Blaster Rifles and Cold Blood - Fistful of Lead

 about a month ago a member of the Wiley Games facebook page, posted pics and a small summary of a game they did using Fistful of Lead: Galactic Heroes and FFoL: Fantasy rules. and reading the post and checking out the pics it tickled a creative bone inside me. they had space orks crash onto a medieval planet, and had to collect spilled oil around the table while fighting off the inhabitants of the land. having been working on my lizardmen, i figured i'll use them as the primitive inhabitants of the land and use my recently finished Brotherhood figs from Warzone game from the 90's. just a basic game nothing much. search and destroy and kill one another. i knew it was gonna be one sided but i had high hopes. layout of the table. the inquisitive Brotherhood, looking to spread the word. the lizardmen a few shots, and made an archer shaken. the Brotherhood forms a line of defense. trying to regroup, one takes off running. the lizardmen on the move. the archers advance but gets take...

black puddings: fat free and fun to make

i always wanted to put on the table ooze monsters and such but the miniatures from Wizkids only came in one size and style. so i went looking for some tutorials on how to scratch built ones. i looked on Youtube for any instructional videos and as usual i end up on DM Scotty's channel called TheDMsCraft. click to view video.   the only thing i did differently is i used regular hot glue, spray painted it with a black and then few coats of gloss Mod Podge. in Dungeons and Dragons if a ooze or pudding is struck down by certain weapons or damaged by particular types of magic spells, they will split into smaller versions of itself. one large ooze will split into two medium size pile of ooze. if one medium size is damaged it also will split into 2 small versions. i made enough to a large size black pudding is able to split into the correct amount of puddings down to the smallest form.   group of adventurers is ambushed by a fairly large black pudding.   after some time fighting ...
