i've been continuing cranking out miscellaneous miniatures for Dungeons and Dragons and even particularly Perilous Tales. finding miniatures in boxes and containers i forgot i even had, if i can throw some paint on it i quickly did, just to get them done and table ready. i guess it's wishful thinking of slimming down my plastic pile-a-shame. first off i found a small box of plastic creatures from Mantic Games i bought over a year ago and only painted certain creatures from it, so i took the little swarms of snakes and did them a quick green and some shade. and along with those i also found the last of my small toy snakes i remember from a plastic toy set from Wal-Mart. i painted two of these snakes before but this time around i did them in the same green to make it look like a happy snake family. for some time now i had the Mansion of Madness second edition board game from Fantasy Flight Games, just collecting dust and Rita and i haven't played it for some time now. so i to...

 this past weekend, Rita and i decide to play a game we rarely play. so we broke out the X-Wing miniature game 1st. edition and set up a basic 1v1 game. she played the rebels and imperial empire for myself. this time around i wanted to play with ships i never got a chance to play with. so i went with TIE interceptors. Rita took two B-Wings, two A-Wings and a Y-Wing. to make things easy and because of time restraint, we didn't use upgrade cards. Fel's Wrath going head to head with a Y-Wing, as a royal guard interceptor closes in. Soontir Fel harasses an A-Wing her two B-Wings closes in. among them she took Ten Numb which opened up with a target lock on one of my ships. by round two or so, all hell broke loose. out maneuvered the royal guard pilot, Kir Kanos was surrounded by A-Wings. i couldn't get shots off to get her ship's shield down fast enough, but Rita was beginning to peel away the hull points of mine. what i thought was gonna be a kill, turned out to be misfires...

i introduced my girlfriend to X-Wing miniature game this past weekend. was actually surprised she caught on fairly quickly. we had lots of fun and sometimes we did really stupid things we couldn't stop laughing. layout of the table. nothing exciting just a straight forward shooting game. no special missions. we had Empire Strikes Back playing on her iPad for background noise. but we did stop and watch the battles scenes and such. I gave her ships of the Galactic Empire. two TIE fighters and Darth Vader. I took a Silencer and two f/o TIE fighters. everyone on the move. i flew my Silencer towards Vader to get an early kill but she plotted his movement zig zagging as she was getting used to the maneuver dials. at one point I had to execute a k-turn to get back on course.   it was funny watching her trying to get a hang of the dials and templates.  the crazy moves she was doing benefited her in the end. as hea...
