the ghast: Perilous (western) Tales
a few days ago I got another game of Perilous Tales in this past weekend and this time the
main villain was the ghast, which is under the same name in the rulebook.
the back story for this game is the group has heard rumors of certain treasures in an old
abandoned settlement that was a scene of complete horror.
this episode has reoccurring spawns of spirits once you kill them and that is a pain in the butt
when you are trying to clear a way to the objectives.
the objectives are: Stop the Ritual, Recover Equipment, and Set the Explosives.
the perils in the game are: Disaster Strikes, Driven Back, and The Horde.
which all were randomly generated.

Mr. Dennis gets a surprise while searching for artifacts in the abandoned settlement.

finding the mysterious idol that is planted beside a building, few of the group begins
heading towards it.
Puckett tests his luck against a few spirits who see him as a threat.

the ghast spawns on top of a building and descends down and attacks its first victim.

the only thing about this villain episode is the re-spawning spirits and such.

i did set up an attack on the ghast to attempt to take it out next turn.

with more spirits closing on,
the Rita Lynn, Mr. Dennis and William Loomis all concentrated their efforts to take out
the ghast and successful in doing it.

Mr. Dennis found himself surrounded by the end of the game.
not the best performance this group has done but since i upgraded a few of the members,
the threat level begins at two instead of one,
so with that the difficulty in the game just increased and i need to adapt to being more
aggressive in solving the objectives before the threat level hits 10.
with the poor dice rolling and what not the group received a D grade.
so hopefully the next game i will have a better strategy and better luck with the threat markers.
until next time....💀💀💀💀💀
Looks great as always.
ReplyDeleteThose Adobe buildings are nice.
It seems like I should investigate Perilous Tales. It comes across as a more serious game than 7TV, but covering similar ground
thanks, i got those buildings off of Etsy. the shop is called Panhandle3d. wish they had more options than the 3 they have like another 2-story design but i can't complain much they are nice buildings.
Deletebeing i haven't played 7TV i cant say what the difference is but the randomness in Perilous Tales keeps it interesting i think.
Excellent game, the set up was very atmospheric for the time period and setting. All those spirits would be hard to deal with, but great work taking out the Ghast
ReplyDeletethank you very much.
Deletethe spirits are not hard to kill, just a waste of time. lol.
taking out the ghast was actually tricky. but it paid off in the end.
