Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

 gonna say back in 1997-98,
i started getting into fifth edition Warhammer fantasy.
i started collecting Army of Bretonnia because they came in the box set.
then i moved from them to Chaos Warriors to finally settling on the Undead.

as i was collecting Undead, i started looking at other miniature companies for
better looking undead miniatures.
came across Reaper Miniatures and discovered a mounted skeleton on a
large half decayed goat.
at the time i thought this was the coolest thing ever.
unbeknownst to me,
i didn't realize this fellow was kinda part of a set in a way.
he was part of the horsemen of the apocalypse group.

after over 20 years, i finally came to the point that i wanted to get them all.
found these on Ebay and i was extremely happy and anxious to get
them assembled and painted.

when deciding who would be who,
i did some research and reading and also referred to what
Reaper Miniatures has them labeled as.

as i painted them i tried my best to stay with the biblical descriptions.


Famine
When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come." I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not damage the oil and the wine."

Death
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come." I looked, and behold, a pale horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Conquer
Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come." I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

War
When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come." And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from Earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

operation MotU: wave 1

 so begins a great adventure.... when i bought the CMON Masters of the Universe board game i knew what i was getting myself into. but over time i didn't realize what kind of pile of shame i would have. so i thought instead of being overwhelmed with what i should paint first, i thought i'll paint what the original toy-line was back in the '80's starting with wave 1. wave 1 consists of He-Man, Man-at-Arms, Teela, Stratos, Battle Cat, Skeletor, Mer-Man, Beast Man, and Zodac.  i painted them like the original cartoon or close enough to it. Heroic Warriors He-Man is the alter ego of Prince Adam and also the twin brother of She-Ra. He-Man and his friends defend Eternia, the secrets of Castle Grayskull, and the entire universe from the evil forces of his archenemy Skeletor. Man-At-Arms is the primary title of Duncan. Grishnug and the Red Fangs (edited 3/3/24)

continuing working on my orc warband. once again i continued using the slapchop painting method just to get several more painted in a short amount time. since i am using two sets of the Wizkids orc box sets i will have multiple orcs with same armor sculpts and weapons. when i painted these guys i mainly used a red and green for any cloth on their armor. i did convert some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another figure armed the same way. with several of them i used a lighter to some what melt and soften the plastic to either bend wrists/hands holding weapons or even clipped some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another. the orc warband lead by the self proclaimed king of the orcs, Grishnug. which was the name of my orc hunter from back in my days of World of Warcraft. ( edit: several days after i made this post i got the rest of the Wizkids orcs finished. in all of their glory, the entire w arband. ) the orc king leads a few into battle against a huge spider

the Well of Lost Stars

 with my D&D group's campaign came to a conclusion last weekend, i needed some thing to let the one group of characters to transfer from my campaign to a fellow group member, Jon's campaign. so i thought what i could do or even use for an easy transfer. i thought i'll use a plot device to teleport the group of heroes to where the next campaign will begin. the Well of Lost Stars. the main part of this terrain piece was part of a failed 3-d print of the Stargate, from the movie of the same name. i have another piece that was printed just not as thicker, i might make it into another Well. the band of heroes investigates the Well of Lost Stars. "what could this be?" the tricky rogue, Usagi asked curiously. to make the green substance is basically some amount of paint and Elmer's glue. i took a light shade of green and mixed it in the glue, then i filled the inside area with the mixed glue and finally added a few dots of a darker green. i ran a toothpick around
