Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

 gonna say back in 1997-98,
i started getting into fifth edition Warhammer fantasy.
i started collecting Army of Bretonnia because they came in the box set.
then i moved from them to Chaos Warriors to finally settling on the Undead.

as i was collecting Undead, i started looking at other miniature companies for
better looking undead miniatures.
came across Reaper Miniatures and discovered a mounted skeleton on a
large half decayed goat.
at the time i thought this was the coolest thing ever.
unbeknownst to me,
i didn't realize this fellow was kinda part of a set in a way.
he was part of the horsemen of the apocalypse group.

after over 20 years, i finally came to the point that i wanted to get them all.
found these on Ebay and i was extremely happy and anxious to get
them assembled and painted.

when deciding who would be who,
i did some research and reading and also referred to what
Reaper Miniatures has them labeled as.

as i painted them i tried my best to stay with the biblical descriptions.


Famine
When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come." I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not damage the oil and the wine."

Death
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come." I looked, and behold, a pale horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Conquer
Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come." I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

War
When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come." And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from Earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

Death by Goat Chickens - 40k Kill Team

had a fun time playing some 40k Kill Team with friend Jayson and his Thousand Sons. despite losing, i had a lot of fun and my friend was getting kick out of his new Kill Team also. and also learn some thing about my own Kill Team and the general rules of the game.   even though the dice were not in my favor today, least i got to use my Death Guard dice.  Thousands Sons deployment  my girlfriend took a picture, her first time watching me game and watch a full game being played out she thought it was neat and cute...not sure how cute this was.... anyways in the pic.. the Death Guard advance and i did manage to take out a follower of Tzeentch.  Death Guard advance.  taking wounds.  taking a beating from the Tzaangors... or the chicken goat f***ks.  looking down the barrel of a soulreaper cannon.  the chicken goat bastards giving the Death Guard Champion and another marine a run for the...

legion of undead

still plugging away at the mess of undead miniatures i still have. these skeletons are from the Undead Encounter pack from Mantic Games. i went with a simple color scheme, i didn't want to spend a lot of time on them. the so called leader of the group. with the simple color and shading these came out nicely. i might go back and retouch the eyes, maybe add a green glow or redness in the eye sockets. rest of the group. way these came out i might purchase another pack of these, add more to the more ranks. Beholder Zombie. this fellow was fun to paint. cannot wait to unleash this on my D&D group. (insert evil laugh here) Crawling Claws. wanted to make some low CR creatures for this weekend's game, and since the group is heading to a den of evil what better way than this. made from dismembered hands from an old GW zombie plastic set. last year i came across some board games called Dark World, and the miniatures were pretty cool to use elsewhere in my table top games. so i used t...

for the Lord of Wolf, for Russ!

ever since my last game of 40k Kill Team with my buddy Jayson, i've been thinking on a second team for the game. lots of ideas were swirling in my head. and i narrowed it down to the faction i always wanted ever since i first started playing 40k back in 2nd edition. the honorable and ferocious Space Wolves. with all the new material coming out for 9th edition and what has been out already i have to say i am disappointed on how much character the new Primaris space marines lack. i mean yeah there's the upgrade packs you could get but still there isn't much to separate one group of Primaris marines from another of a different chapter except shoulder pads. so deciding on this i went with the classic look of the Space Wolves. but with that also there is only a few units and not much i can use if i do a non-Primaris Kill Team. and with these marine i also tried the Citadel Colour Contrast paints. and i have to say i like them very much. very easy...
