ORCtober 2021 pt.2 "Ironclaw Tribe "

 continuing my ORCtober challenge,
i finally finished piecing together and gluing them to bases the first orc warband
i tend to use for Fistful of Lead: Fantasy game.

kinda lazy with names i took several ork names from Warhammer 40k,
least the ones i remember from years ago and the ones i always thought
were awesome enough to remember.


Dragonmaw Clan


this warband is made entirely out of the plastics from the
classic box set Warhammer Fantasy Regiments.
 

Ghazghull Thraka and Nazdreg


Grotsnik, Skargrim, and Gorgutz

did not notice it until everything was painted but i did have the
old Evil Sunz and Bad Moons shields mixed together.
after seeing this kinda want to make either a pure
Bad Moon or Evil Sun clan group now.
or maybe just use just one or the other shield design with
a different color scheme.

Grishnug and the Red Fangs (edited 3/3/24)

continuing working on my orc warband. once again i continued using the slapchop painting method just to get several more painted in a short amount time. since i am using two sets of the Wizkids orc box sets i will have multiple orcs with same armor sculpts and weapons. when i painted these guys i mainly used a red and green for any cloth on their armor. i did convert some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another figure armed the same way. with several of them i used a lighter to some what melt and soften the plastic to either bend wrists/hands holding weapons or even clipped some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another. the orc warband lead by the self proclaimed king of the orcs, Grishnug. which was the name of my orc hunter from back in my days of World of Warcraft. ( edit: several days after i made this post i got the rest of the Wizkids orcs finished. in all of their glory, the entire w arband. ) the orc king leads a few into battle against a huge spider

pulp heroes and villians

 here are some pics of several miniatures i have been working on these past few weeks. a mixture of rugged heroes and sinister men of the Ahnenerbe. i bought several packs of the Gestapo from PulpFigures.com and wanted to do something different with them instead of making them like normal Nazis officers and soldiers. so i thought since i'm gonna play a lot of sci-fi material i'll play them as a secret agency of paranormal research within the Ahnenerbe. and then along those i acquired several unusual miniatures that would fit perfectly in either my Nazis soldier set or my pulp heroes i had going on. when painting the Nazis miniatures i did the red armband but haven't gotten to the white spot and swastika symbol yet. some of the members of the Parable Custodians are about to ambush a few of the Nacht Jagers.  when i started collecting pulp figures and such few years ago, one of the stories i wanted to tell through tabletop wargaming were the tales of H.P. Lovecraft and the cosmic horrors he created. so after much sitting on the idea of actually getting a figure i came across a shop on Etsy.com that had several Lovecraftian creatures. so i placed an order with TranscendentalPrints. and within eight days i had in my hands on of the best 3-d printed figures i have ever seen. click here to check out TranscendentalPrints page on Etsy.com. when i was in the process of ordering this figure i did sort of messed up on the size and i went with a 75mm tall. after i got the figure and took a good look at it i should have gone with a 100mm. it would have made him look more dominate on the tabletop.   according to the shop Etsy page the figure is made out of resin, but from past experiences with resin i had to wash the model with hot water and soap, but with this i literally took it from the shipping p
