Dracula: Lost Souls in London

always a great feeling when you come across something that you didn't know existed.
few months ago i came across a little black box.
now there was no packaging, no sticker on the box, nothing.
i opened the little box,
and in this little black box were several pewter miniatures.
these miniatures were unpainted and all one piece.

(not my case, image from internet to show packaging)

as i looked over the miniatures i kept looking at two particular figures.
a man in an old fashioned suit and top hat,
and a woman in a very Victorian style dress.
and then all of a sudden my brain started to joggle memories and images and scenes from a movie and i kinda muttered "holy shit!"
my friend Ron looked over and i replied,
"these are Bram Stoker's Dracula miniatures!"

went home and stashed the little black box on one of my gaming shelves for safe keeping.
it wasn't until few weeks ago i noticed on the back of the little box
an address of Leading Edge Games.
so i googled the name and a trove of knowledge poured out.
this box set is just one of several sets of Bram Stoker's Dracula miniatures,
Leading Edge Games produced in the 1990's.

sadly as i researched the contents of this particular set,
i noticed there are a few miniatures missing.
in the set i have i am missing the Dracula (Wolf form) and the Dracula miniatures.
(which are pictured above, top two figures from the left.)
but in the box i have the
Arthur Holmwood, Dr. Seward, and Elizabeth,
from the Castle Dracula box set.

now i come to a dilemma.
do i want to keep them in the box case unpainted and untouched,
or paint them?
i kinda wanna keep them unpainted. i don't want to mess them up.
but if for some reason i come across the other sets i just might paint them
and i'll have a new adventure on my hands for the gaming table.

i just wanted to post this to show what i came across and to share it with friends.
i'm still amazed of the classic and vintage miniatures and sets i come across
after all these years.

i didn't take any pictures of my own set because my camera wouldn't
be able to show the details of the miniatures and such,
so i just went on the net and searched for some nice images.

i do admit though Bram Stoker's Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola
is one of my favorite version of the whole Dracula story.

if i ever do come to the conclusion of painting these wonderful figures
i will most certainly post them up on the blog.

  1. I can remember these in the Virgin megastore in the centre of Birmingham. I have a few wolves from another set which I use for my GI Joe Timber.
