the cursed Ozomatli: perilous (western) tales

Image
i had so much fun few days ago playing Perilous Tales i swapped out terrain pieces and  set up a new game. i also updated the roster sheet with new experience points, traits, and skill points for a new game eager to play. love how it only takes one good idea to invigorate the interest of playing solo games again with little time i have to spare with work and all. the episode is the cursed Ozomatli. ( the Mummy from the rulebook. ) the group has come across some ruins of some sort of temple or point of worship of a bygone civilization and is rumored to have some precious artifacts to be had. the objectives are: Kill the Master, Destroy the Idol, and Get Evidence.  the perils in the game are: Unsteady Underfoot, Utterly Horrible, Earthquake,  which all were randomly generated. the group spreads out and gets a visual of what is what. like usual using William Loomis' Eagle Eye trait to take a peek at some threat markers. knowing what threat markers are i starting to reve...

the thing in the town: perilous (western) tales

awhile back i had an idea of playing Perilous Tales but instead of 1930's pulp, play the game in a western setting. taking the villain scenarios and reverting them to a wild west feel was the fun part, like instead of the mad scientist and his monster i thought of a crazed undertaker and his undead. with this scenario instead of remaking scenes from the movie The Thing, i took the same idea but just placed it in a western. but with this great idea of doing Perilous Tales in the wild west setting, i figured i'll run a campaign serial out of it all.  the Dennis family (Mrs. and Mr. Dennis, and Rita Lynn), Abraham Puckett, and William Loomis. the episode is the Thing in the town. ( the Thing in the Ice from the rulebook. ) some strange things have taken place in town recently, and Mr. Jenkins from the hardware store has been acting pretty weird also. the objectives are: Leave No Stone Unturned, Recover Equipment, and Set the Explosives. the perils in the game are: Disaster Strikes...

more MotU madness

after getting the Snake Men finished i been contemplating on getting another copy of the CMON Clash of Eternia kickstarter sets to make more characters i do not have or create new ones with different painting schemes. going over pages and pages of listings on eBay i found a decent set for a decent price. i took some time and went over the contents of each box set mapping out what figures i want to either convert into new characters and which ones i would use for pieces and such. i look at this as a passion project but also a cheap excuse to delay getting the She-Ra and the Great Rebellion figures painted. haha. the package arrived when i was at work, and once i got home i pulled out the figures i knew right away i wanted to begin to work on. a few i have to wait for because i need additional supplies like green stuff putty and some paint, and of course some nice weather. since finishing the Snake Men i want to create some more characters from this faction. i want to use the Fang-Or bod...

D&D: three years later

Image
to be honest i like doing these yearly D&D recaps of what our group has done in the past year but unfortunately with some ill feelings the group broke up back in November. and with my work schedule going the way it has been didn't help much either, the remaining group members were ok taking a break until things could get back on track. with a good portion of player characters gone, the three of us who remained together agreed once we find more players to start at level one with fresh new characters. Rita had a co-worker who was interested in joining our group who also attended one of our game sessions once before. they were excited in joining and already had character ideas so we never got to use the random character dice. days leading up to our first day of the brand new campaign i was told they were bringing an elf wizard and an aarakocra monk. which at this point i knew this was going to be a funny campaign. the new adventuring party. (l to r.) Senka, human rogue, Mah'ch...
