D&D: three years later

to be honest i like doing these yearly D&D recaps of what our group has done in the past
year but unfortunately with some ill feelings the group broke up back in November.
and with my work schedule going the way it has been didn't help much either,
the remaining group members were ok taking a break until things could
get back on track.
with a good portion of player characters gone, the three of us who remained together
agreed once we find more players to start at level one with fresh new characters.
Rita had a co-worker who was interested in joining our group who also attended
one of our game sessions once before.
they were excited in joining and already had character ideas so we never got to
use the random character dice.
days leading up to our first day of the brand new campaign i was told they were
bringing an elf wizard and an aarakocra monk.
which at this point i knew this was going to be a funny campaign.

the new adventuring party.
(l to r.) Senka, human rogue, Mah'cho, aarakocra monk,
Sgaeyl, high elf wizard, and Scully, wood elf wizard.
this time around i didn't want to join in the campaign as a dungeon master and also a
playable character but i did anyway.
i wanted to expand on several ideas i had last year based on some Lovecraft stories
and/or the Old Ones.
and along with that i made a human warlock named Abdul Alhazred which i plan to use
as a plot device to further along my sinister stories.

Abdul Al'hazred,
a human warlock who is dedicated to a great old one.
during the time we have played D&D now, we have created a group called
the Inquisitive League.
this group works for the royal crown of the kingdom and surrounding areas.
and also over time the group has expanded with new characters.
the way our story has unfolds and such ideas for the future the Inquisitive League was
led by my cleric, Grungni Darkmantle but now it is in the delicate hands of Rita's wood elf
druid, Breena Clodagh.

Inquisitive League.
(l to r.) Usagi, harengon rogue, Emily Scarlett, gnome sorceress,
Breena Clodagh, wood elf druid, Crinkleshorts, gnome warlock,
Pierce M., human bard, and Sindarus, tabaxi wizard of the college of necromancy.
for some time now i wanted to create my own group of my own characters that i based off
of the characters i played as in World of Warcraft.
these characters i would be using as npc's in the D&D campaign for the most part,
but i'll have character sheets for them all so i can play them elsewhere in the
campaign or in someone's game.
the name of the group comes from the guild i ran with on the Perenolde-US server in 2006.
that guild was filled with great people and i am still friends with them to this day.

Fallen Dragons.
(l to r.) Maurganra, wood elf rogue, Helmsley, halfling ranger,
Grungni Darkmantle, dwarf cleric, Roshakuna, minotaur shaman,
and Hannadel Llanowar, high elf paladin.
now knowing there isn't a class called shaman in D&D 5e, i called him that because
i made him a cleric/warlock multiclass character.
figured it would best represent what a shaman could be like in D&D.
despite the set backs we encountered i am pleased with our new group of players and
looking forward to the future.
Oo, very nice. Good to hear that you are getting a new group going, and introducing new players too.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new party have as epic a career as the Fallen Dragons clearly did.
thanks. it's been a blast so far.
Deleteit'll be awhile until I introduce the Fallen Dragons into the story but once I do this adventure is gonna be awesome.
Shame about the old group, but sounds like the new one is in for one hell of a ride ! LOL A great dungeon master makes or breaks a campaign in my experience, and you must be a great one for people to keep returning.
ReplyDeletethank you very much.
DeleteI wouldn't say I'm great but I've been told I'm a good storyteller.
It's the story telling that's important
