9 a.m. - Dick!
a buddy of mine who attended Historicon 2025 told me of a game he was participating in.
while explaining it to me my mind was racing and thinking of what this game could look like.
it was a hunt for Moby Dick.
i was intrigued and quite curious about seeing this game.
everything was hand made, the rules were homebrew and the game mechanics
were quite interesting.
he told me the time and where it was being held and i made a joke about taking pics and
posting it on the blog with a very peculiar title.
nine in the morning came around and Rita and i got out of the house late.
arriving around ten thirty and it seemed like my buddy didn't show up
but still i stuck around and Rita and i stayed and watched the chaos ensue.
not quite sure what was going on,
here are some pictures i took during the great attempt of taking down the mythic creature.

the action when we arrived and realized my friend didn't show up and the white whale
was about to show.

what was really cool is that the fellow who was running this game had different models
made of Moby Dick.
like a full body above the water line, half under with the tail up and out, and just the
head breaching through the waterline.

at one point a player at the table was curious how much damage the whale had left before
it was dead and the gamemaster kind of laughed.
i think the damage the whale caused it regained that much back in hit points or
something like that.
that's crazy and damn near evil.

time ran out but it looked like the fishermen were about to either get their prize or become
just another footnote in the legend of the great white whale.
