assorted fantasy characters and creatures

i've been painting miniatures for the past few weeks but with work and weather,
i haven't gotten around to posting anything.
i did however buy a few new minis for my fantasy collection and also finally getting
around to painting some plastic sprues that i got a while back.
and of course continuing painting the Masters of the Universe figures.

the recent Next Level Miniatures i got were a metal golem and i got another vampire.
i originally got the golem to be a companion for an existing D&D character but decided
against it. 


iron golem.
gave it a golden color instead of the usual silver metal feel.


a nosferatu vampire.

a few weeks ago i came across a plastic box set of miniatures from Wildspire Miniatures
on Amazon was curious about what they were like in person.
unfortunately there were a few from one set i bought i was interested in.
in a future post i'll show more miniatures from the other box sets i got.

love how the hat comes down to conceal the face and such.

a feline artificer, a chunky one at that.
smell a new D&D character. lol!

a ways back i bought two sets of creatures from Mantic Games and only now i got around to
painting several sets of beasts.
and also i needed swarms of certain creatures like bats mainly needed bats for the
Perilous Tales.

back in July when i went to Historicon, i found a vendor table selling D&D miniatures from
Wizkids and i got a few pieces that i thought were unique.
and after three years of playing D&D i finally got an owlbear.
now i just need a dragon.

    Lovely stuff.
    I've wondered about the Wildspire stuff, what's it like for quality?
    And who doesn't love an owlbear.

      It's not bad. the one set i do recommend is the Classic Heroes sets. i found mine on Amazon.
      but the ones pictured above are from a set called Spellblades. they're ok but thin parts on some miniatures are flimsy and easily bendable. but overall unique for the tabletop.
      some of their other sets look kinda bland and meh.

new PC faction for D&D

 it was bound to happen with our new members of our D&D group. they were curious if they were able to make higher leveled characters to match others in the group. several weeks ago i bought a plastic set of miniatures off of Amazon. the figures are from Wildspire Miniatures and i for the most part i like these. durable plastic and nicely sculpted. so i gave the group members a list of the class/combo's that are in this box set and told them to create a character sheet but not tell them what is going to happen afterwards, Rita already had a character in mind and miniature done awhile back but we had to redo a back story and stuff to match what was going to take place. this new group consists of level 10 characters with the exception of the leader who is level 11. the new group is basically hired swords/mercenaries, giving the players the freedom to go in any direction without becoming totally evil. just need Rita to think of a badass name for this group since she's the leade...

operation MotU: miscellaneous characters IV

i took a small break from the MotU stuff but caught myself sucked back into the void. ended up converting and creating some more minor characters and then some. i'm still dragging my feet on doing the Great Rebellion faction but i need to just stop being a child and just do it and get it done. i only have the Rebellion and the Evil Horde factions to do. but i am having too much fun creating these obscure characters. Spirit of Grayskull. the Red Knight. several months ago Mattel released the Masters of the Universe: Origins Battle for Eternia multipack that featured a figure from each of the major factions in the MotU except the Great Rebellion. out of all of the figures that are featured in the pack, i noticed the Paragon Champion for the Heroic Warriors seemed fairly easy to convert using spare figures i have from my surplus CMON Clash of Eternia miniatures. using the torso of King Randor and lower body and head from a Eternian Palace Guard, i was able to create this neat figure. ...
