3mm to 1.5mm

 for some time now i have been debating on swapping out the 3mm MDF bases
for thin 1.5mm plastic bases since i am starting to collect quite a bit of
figures that can be used between my fantasy and pulp collections.

 

and since i have been playing with my fantasy stuff a lot more because of
Dungeons and Dragons i decided to begin the process of changing the bases.

i figured i would start with my mummies since they might make an appearance in
my upcoming campaign next year.

 i was gonna get duplicates and just put them on the 1.5 bases but do a different
color scheme but i was really happy how these came out,
so i just had to redo them.
 

after some time i actually couldn't find my rat swarms.
but once i started converting the bases over,
i found them in figure case tucked away.


i was gonna buy all new mummy figures  and base them with the 1.5mm,
but when i went back to look on Reaper Miniatures' website,
apparently they don't sell the 9 pack mummies anymore.
so because of that alone is the driving force behind this whole project.

i use these as deformed ghouls.

 i wont repost all my pulp figures with the new bases,
just wanted to show these again because these are my favorite pieces
from my pulp collection.

operation MotU: wave 2

  continuing with the Masters of the Universe figures from CMON with wave two. wave two consists of Man-E-Faces, Ram Man, Evil-Lyn, Faker, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Panthor. for a change of pace i ended up painting a few hover robots since i have a decent amount of them and they were not part of the original toy-line. Heroic Warriors Man-E-Faces is a member of the Heroic Warriors, notable by his distinctive appearance, with his large, blue metal head on which his faces appear in its screen-like opening. Recovering Artifacts

 today is my girlfriend's birthday. and so i thought it would be nice to host a game to where she and her boys would team up and play as a recovering team that landed on a deserted ship to find artifacts. four teams of three would scour the ship for these items. each item recovered is worth victory points, but the main victory is to survive and escape the ship with the artifacts. i used a modified version of Fistful of Lead for a rule set. with all the excitement and having too much fun and didn't think of taking a lot of pics. but with what pics that were taken, they were taken by Rita, i think she does a better job at it than me. the recovering teams arrive on a elevator. i wanted to have these teams to find the artifacts but have some kind of a resistance. i used the game mechanic of blip markers from the Space Hulk game. i did this because of the shock factor it produces when revealed how many aliens are incoming and the faces of Rita's boys' faces is priceless. beginning of a boomtown

 been wanting to do a wild west table for a few years now and now i'm finally getting around to do it. i ordered several buildings on Amazon from Atomic Laser Cut Designs. i reckon over time i'll get more to create a small town that will cover at least 4x4 gaming space. i was excited to share my first building i completed this evening which is a saloon. hopefully by the end of the month i'll have the rest done and a battle report or two posted. a show down outside a saloon. easy assembly even without instructions. first set of buildings i had built. i didn't know what color or how to go about painting a wild west building. so i figured my first building should be at least an easy one. i watered down some Apple Barrel acrylic paint, added some black to the and did the doorway and window frames.   same thing for the billboard, watered down some green and black for the lettering.  " you cheated me, you son of a bitch! "
