Den of the White Serpent

after i finished my icy blue snakes i put together whatever i had left of the
Ghost Archipelago: Snake Men plastic box sets.
eight full body snake men miniatures were left.

with this time around i wanted to expand my paint palette with,
instead of using dark colors like normal
i went with lighter shades.

a friend Nick suggested i do a pink color.
i kinda sneered at the idea,
but then why not.
it would be fun and unusual for me to do this kind of color scheme for
any fantasy miniatures in my collection.

 my first one completed,
figured this fellow would be the leader.
i clipped the bow from his left hand and attached a shield to it,
and glued the ends of the bow to the shoulder/back area of his torso,
to give it an appearance of a trophy rack or part of his armor.

spray painted a base coat of Krylon Flat White,
then thinned down with water a mixture of Apple Barrel #20403 White and #21469E Flag Red,
to make a shade of pink that wasn't too bright or dull.

once the pink shade of paint was dried,
i went and thinned down with water some Apple Barrel #21469E Flag Red.
creating my own wash to give the pink a little life.

once the rest of this warband is completed i will post pics.

have to admit i am thinking more and more outside the box when it comes to painting fantasy miniatures because im not stuck painting a certain uniform or color scheme.
been having a lot of fun with fantasy base material.
