Chronicles of HATE - clash two

after a wrecked weekend of gaming,
i felt bad for Rita and her Um'Tull tribe.
so i told her we can play her favorite scenario to hopefully lift her spirits.
i was going into this battle with one killed member of my tribe but still
have the man-power in the form of Char the Vengeful.

first battle

with this scenario it's pretty much kill as much to gain as much hate as you can
before the plateaus begin to fall apart.
at the end of every round except for the fourth round,
a die is rolled and whatever designated plateau is the result that
game piece is taken out of play and any models on it is considered knocked out.

at the beginning of the game our Princes and champions are deployed fairly
close to each other.
you almost have to decide what is more important, stick and move or just
kill everyone in sight.

one of the big highlights was i rushed my merc in along with the tribe's champion.
i eventually put my Prince in the fight and took out Rita's champion.

we're all going to die somehow in this battle, might as well go out with a bang!

the Vengeful was struck down with an Um'Tull poison,
and since because of his incredible dice pool when either attacking or defending
i was generating as much savagery than i knew what to do with.
i went and reactivate Char and sent him to take down the enemy shaman and another.

at the end of round one,
i would eventually lose two and Rita would lost a handful herself.

after we rolled to see which plateau sections would fall,
Rita literally lost over half her tribe.
for me i lost three.
Rita looked over her tribe roster and decided to retreat.
we did the paperwork on our resources and tribe and she
didn't fair too bad.
have to see what the next battle brings for her.
she needs to gain territories for tribe perks and such.

second battle

since Rita picked the first battle's scenario,
i got to picked the second one and i picked an outer circle scenario
that involves a mercenary,
thinking somehow she would be able to add one to her own tribe.

with this scenario the board we would be fighting on is turned long ways
and littered with several more of trees and resources than normal.
and because of that we remembered to use the Feast token, which lets you activate one additional tribe member a turn.

with this scenario we randomly picked a mercenary.
having Rita picking a number between one to twelve,
she picked eight and the Spore Child was selected.
at the end of each other's turn, we get to control the mercenary's movement and actions.
almost like a ping pong ball of muscle and...hate.

at the end of round one,
Rita was cautiously advancing using the mercenary at her bidding,
but unfortunately not gaining any benefits.
i was in the game of gathering as much resources as i could early game to control
the Fest token but also to gain more slots for my village to reap
the rewards of upgrades.

my Prince fell in battle against the Spore Child.
which was kind of a blow towards my tribe.

end of round two, the Spore Child eventually made his way towards my end of the board.
i was chopping away trying to take him out but i was rolling poorly.
at this point i wasn't getting lucky with my rolls for any additional savagery to
get Char up and killing.

during round three i managed to get several members of my tribe to surround
the Spore Child but my efforts became undone.

but on the other hand, one of my warriors was able to get an upgrade called Cleave.
and with that ability i am able to attack any opposite tribe members that
is adjacent to the warrior.
and out of four possible targets, three were knockout.

by end of round three i was pretty much in bad shape.
i didn't want to quit but i knew i was in a tough spot.
i lost all three of my shamans.
Rita was in good shape.

during round four, the Spore Child was moved around and causing chaos,
eventually made it back to the opposite end of the board.

Rita had a young blood sneak up through and pretty much take out
my cleaving killing machine of a warrior.
kind of like salt on a wound,
knowing the battle was over.

end of the final round,
no one was able to capture the mercenary or even knock him out.
Rita was not able to capture my territory.
but being able to take most of my tribe, unfortunately she was not able to pull
the win of the battle.

by the end of clash two,
i was able to retain my southern eastern area from Rita,
as she attempted to take that from me.
hopefully she is able to gain some land in the next clash.
she is determined to take me out one way or another.
