"Hector, are you okay?" - Perilous Tales

finally got a pdf of the Perilous Tales beta rules printed out,
and made tokens and markers for game play use, using 3mm mdf bases.
also had objectives and perils cards printed out so now i can
play the game properly.

for this game, there's a merc team who is in charge of placing demo charges
around town in targeted areas,
but unbeknownst to the team there is something lurking
around looking for prey.

layout of the table.

misfit band of mercs,
Hando Solomon, Garrett Cunningham (pilot of the Screaming Rooster),
 Harrison Jones (team leader),
Deion Baracus, and Hector Rivera
(left to right).

merc team begins to advance across the town square,
to set up demo charges in particular spots.

threat markers set-up on the villainous half of the table.

picked out three objectives to complete.

the mercs begin to take caution,
knowing there is something wrong here.

after a threat test that seem to go well,
everything got closer and minions began to be revealed.

rat swarms and the team medic was the monster the whole time.
under neath Hector was the mimic!!

as the minions were unveiled a threat marker that was revealed and
an earthquake took place which made the team to become knocked down.

the whole team spent their turn standing up.
the rat swarms deals small amount damage.

the mimic monster killed Harrison Jones,
the rest of the team was able to break melee combat and begin to shoot the mimic.

so much gunfire to take down the mimic.

figured i would try to complete more objectives,
but moved Baracus a little bit to close to another threat marker
that was a peril that killed him out right.

scene of the aftermath.

small game that takes only a few hours to set up and play.
i'm really enjoying this game and hope it gets published real soon.

  1. Nice work! You've inspired me to pick Perilous Tales back up. Also, you're ahead of me - I'm still just copying perils and objectives down on a sheet of paper when I play. I'll have to print some cards sometime!

    1. haha.
wish Hutchinson would get on the ball and get this game out. i didn't want to print out the pdf and then find out it was published. i said screw it and just went with it.
i printed out the tokens and glued them on to 3mm MDF bases i had spared, scattered around.
pretty nice if i may say so.

    2. I know Perilous Tales is on the backburner at the moment because it's a passion project and there's other books he's getting paid to work on, but as of October he was saying he's been sourcing artwork and photos for the finished book so maybe this year it will come out.

    3. I really hope so.
I wanna create like minion collections for the scenarios when it comes out. like the ghast/spirits, the mummy ones, or the mad scientist to name a few.
