*cue the creepy music*

few years ago, good friend gave me several pieces of terrain
and turned out to be a classic graveyard from Games Workshop.

i painted the gravestones and crypts first but did nothing with the actual
walls and gate for a long time until this past week.


i figured since the next D&D session is going to take place in a graveyard i might as
well get this painted and completed.


like usual i didn't really do details i just wanted it done.
i did paint ALL the skulls.




this was the last section of the graveyard i had to paint and
pretty much at this point i was tired of painting skulls so i busted out
a section of fence to avoid painting them.


i used a picture to create one piece of terrain from three pieces.
and i screwed up and glued the gate piece backwards.




an old hag is ambushed by a few vengeful spirits.

when i went to take the gates off the plastic sprue,
i accidentally cut into the gate so when i would glue it to the gateway
it wouldn't hang correctly so it looks damaged.

    This looks amazing.
    I have one, but the sheer number of skulls has put me off even starting it. Respect to you for doing all yours.
    I imagine it will be a very useful bit of terrain

      thanks. the skulls are a pain in the butt, there were a few I didn't even see when I was painting at first. it wasn't bad once I got a system down.
      sad thing is kinda looking for a full set to expand it but dang they go for soo much now, we'll have to see what happens.

      I'm lucky, I picked one up on the previous part work that GW/Hachette did for Age of Sigmar.

the Well of Lost Stars

 with my D&D group's campaign came to a conclusion last weekend, i needed some thing to let the one group of characters to transfer from my campaign to a fellow group member, Jon's campaign. so i thought what i could do or even use for an easy transfer. i thought i'll use a plot device to teleport the group of heroes to where the next campaign will begin. the Well of Lost Stars. the main part of this terrain piece was part of a failed 3-d print of the Stargate, from the movie of the same name. i have another piece that was printed just not as thicker, i might make it into another Well. the band of heroes investigates the Well of Lost Stars. "what could this be?" the tricky rogue, Usagi asked curiously. to make the green substance is basically some amount of paint and Elmer's glue. i took a light shade of green and mixed it in the glue, then i filled the inside area with the mixed glue and finally added a few dots of a darker green. i ran a toothpick around

Grishnug and the Red Fangs (edited 3/3/24)

continuing working on my orc warband. once again i continued using the slapchop painting method just to get several more painted in a short amount time. since i am using two sets of the Wizkids orc box sets i will have multiple orcs with same armor sculpts and weapons. when i painted these guys i mainly used a red and green for any cloth on their armor. i did convert some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another figure armed the same way. with several of them i used a lighter to some what melt and soften the plastic to either bend wrists/hands holding weapons or even clipped some weapons so they wouldn't look the same to another. the orc warband lead by the self proclaimed king of the orcs, Grishnug. which was the name of my orc hunter from back in my days of World of Warcraft. ( edit: several days after i made this post i got the rest of the Wizkids orcs finished. in all of their glory, the entire w arband. ) the orc king leads a few into battle against a huge spider

the madness has begun..

 recently we started a new adventure with our D&D group and i really wanted to do something different as far as encounters with NPC's and monsters alike. i've been reading a lot of H.P. Lovecraft lately and i wanted to play out some of the stories that i read here as of late. the back story of the Necronomicon really intrigues me, so i went and found several arab miniatures from a box of plastic arab spearmen/archers and made my own "Mad" Abdul Alhazred. with the two sets of the temple from Tenfold Dungeons and the recently ordered Lovecraftian monsters from WotC, i am excited to see how everyone reacts to what i have in stored for everyone. and also with such figures on hand i can play some really interesting pulp games. within the ruins of whats left of a temple, Alhazred begins reading from tattered pages from an ancient tome. slowly losing his mind in the process. continuing redoing the bases of my miniature collection. i need more camels. the oozes i'm us
