aliens and demons

ever since the new year i have been tracking the amount of figures i have painted,
and i'm kinda curious what the number will look like come the end of this year.
i've been wanting to get a few games in but haven't had the time unfortunately.
recently i got some hellhounds from Next Level Miniatures,
these were good for the price and some cleaning up had to be done but overall nice figures.
there was a large three-headed hellhound i had to get.

i had to use some green stuff to fix some miscasting around the heads of the large hound.
hopefully soon i can unleash these onto my D&D group.

some evil sorcerers summoning a great hound of hell.
finally got around painting some aliens from CMON's Zombicide: Invader boardgame.
sadly i didn't get into the game as i thought i would,
but i held on to the miniatures from it to use in other tabletop games.

i have many more sitting around in a box which i might paint different colors as
time goes on or if i need certain aliens a certain color.
there aren't many details on the smaller aliens than the larger one so i just splashed
colors on them.
i did however take my time with the larger boy and gave him more vibrant colors.

i was using several pics of artwork that illustrated H.P. Lovecraft's monsters for inspiration.

i didn't want to paint these green but it is what it is.
still getting used to the speedpaints of Army Painter and the different shades of green, blue,
and browns are a pain in my opinion.

few outlaws being ambushed by unknown creatures.
There's some nice monsters there, well done.
ReplyDeleteBoardgames are a great source of minis, and the quality is getting better.
I must investigate these Next Level minis.
The Speedpaints look good
thanks. i am currently going back and forth of purchasing another set of Cthulhu: Death May Die boardgame box sets just for the creatures and such.
DeleteNext Level Miniatures are nice for the price. i get mine through Miniature Market, which average between $1.49 - $1.99 USD for regular size and also depends on the size also.
The hounds look fantastic, and you've hid the problem on the cast well, spent a good 5 minutes looking to see if I could spot it. Can totally see the Lovecraft connection with these aliens, so using green becomes a standard template ! LOL My use of contrast/speed paints is so limited, and I don't tend to use them in the way they were created, so I can't be much help with them sorry
ReplyDeletethank you. there were gaping spots around the large hound's heads.
Deletei use the slapchop painting method with contrast paints now because i just don't have the patience to paint like i used to back in the day and with poor eye sight it just makes painting a pain now,
but i enjoy this hobby too much to give it up.
great work on these, I love the hounds especially!
ReplyDeletethanks buddy. i tried to make them hellish - fiery brimstone like. i could have done them better i think.
