Ogres

finished up ogres for my friend.
these ogre miniatures are from Gripping Beast miniatures.
was asked to keep them in some what of same skin tone, which wasn't hard,
but the last one i did was sculpted as it had a lot of hair/fur all over his body.
so i just painted it as if it had lots of hair.


 primed with Mechanicus Standard Gray


this one particular ogre reminded me of Eddie from Iron Maiden least in the face way it was sculpted and i teased my friend i was gonna paint like a skull on the face and stuff.
i got a stern no in response.

operation MotU: wave 1

 so begins a great adventure.... when i bought the CMON Masters of the Universe board game i knew what i was getting myself into. but over time i didn't realize what kind of pile of shame i would have. so i thought instead of being overwhelmed with what i should paint first, i thought i'll paint what the original toy-line was back in the '80's starting with wave 1. wave 1 consists of He-Man, Man-at-Arms, Teela, Stratos, Battle Cat, Skeletor, Mer-Man, Beast Man, and Zodac.  i painted them like the original cartoon or close enough to it. Heroic Warriors He-Man is the alter ego of Prince Adam and also the twin brother of She-Ra. He-Man and his friends defend Eternia, the secrets of Castle Grayskull, and the entire universe from the evil forces of his archenemy Skeletor. Man-At-Arms is the primary title of Duncan. operation MotU: wave 2

  continuing with the Masters of the Universe figures from CMON with wave two. wave two consists of Man-E-Faces, Ram Man, Evil-Lyn, Faker, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Panthor. for a change of pace i ended up painting a few hover robots since i have a decent amount of them and they were not part of the original toy-line. Heroic Warriors Man-E-Faces is a member of the Heroic Warriors, notable by his distinctive appearance, with his large, blue metal head on which his faces appear in its screen-like opening. His ability is to change his face from his regular human face to that of a robot and a monster. Ram Man is a member of the Heroic Warriors, characterized by his bulky, spring-legged appearance and flat-topped metal helmet. His special ability is to knock opponents or obstacles down with his super-hard helmet. Evil-Lyn attempts to cast a spell at Teela. four foot of raging fury!!

my girlfriend Rita told me the other week that her youngest son joined a D&D school club and we needed to write up a character sheet. we sat and picked a race/class and her youngest Sam picked of all things, gnome barbarian named Hamish. we rolled for stats and filled out all the slots and information for him to play his first legit D&D game. so a week later we were told the person who's running the D&D club is starting the characters at level 3, why i have no idea, you figured new players would start at level 1? so we "leveled up" Sam's character and we played out a small session to get Sam familiar with the basic rules.
