 continuing working on the tribal miniatures from the Solomon Kane: Against the Vampires board game set. also converting more figures to 1.5mm bases. and then here and there in between i've been writing and rewriting campaign adventures for our new upcoming campaign. i always figured this miniature would be the overall ruler of whatever i would use these tribesmen. the witch doctor. at first i forgot to paint the face and once i went out to spray the figure with a varnish i saw it and thought it kinda looks better with the white. almost looks like a painted skull. giant rats from GW's classic Necromunda game, that had 3mm bases and reverted to 1.5mm. in Dungeons and Dragons i could use these as diseased plague rats, maybe with a small increase in hit points.   the champion. large muscular brute armed with a huge two-handed sword with gold threaded in and out and around the blade of the weapon. i thought of this fellow as being a spellcaster of some sorts like a shaman. i wante...

 haven't been doing much of any painting, just redoing bases to my wild west figures and several fantasy miniatures. i did start painting the miniature that were in the Solomon Kane board game expansion, Against the Vampires, i got awhile back. "KILL THE BEAST!" Negari Warriors from the Solomon Kane game. these are a tad bigger than Wizkids miniatures but they work as a tribe of some sort or even primitive Goliaths. since they are of the same sculpt i twisted and turn the hand with the sword in a way to make them all different in some way. recently Miniature Market was running a blowout sale of sorts and i happen to stumble across Tenfold Dungeons Town set for sale for like almost half the price. so i was curious what else was on sale and wouldn't you know it so was the Temple set. and this could not come at a worst time. recovering from Christmas, just paid rent and utility bills. so i did some number juggling and figured i could treat myself to another set. having two sets now means i can give have more depth in my dungeons by going up!...or down which ever the case. couldn't sleep the other night so i took out both sets and created a temple. ( when i took this pic i used everything except for two hallways and one large room. ) and comparing to just one set, having two sets is kind of a sweet deal. and plus being able to create an even larger temple gives me the excuse to expand on my ancient temple/ruins scatter terrain pieces. showed a picture to Rita and she said sometime in the next week or two we need to r...

 since nearly half of the D&D group was absent this past weekend a few of us got together and i was able to introduce them to a game of Fistful of Lead. i ran a very basic version of the game for them. since i had my wild west figures all out and about i took this opportunity to set up a wild west game since my D&D never really saw the terrain for it.  basic set up of the buildings. still meaning to get more scatter pieces for my western collection. everyone had a three man group to keep things easy. but since i was running it i had to throw a wrench in there to make it really interesting. i had scattered all around number tokens. when an ace card or the joker cards are used to activate a model, whoever played the card rolls a d6 to select which location zombies will appear from. then roll d3 to see how many will appear. if a joker card is used only one slight more aggressive zombie is summoned. the objective of the game though is to get every member of your group to ...

i haven't done a whole lot of painting for a while now, with the exceptions of what i did get done early last month. but with a new D&D campaign looming i am pretty much gearing up for a winter of painting and crafting. with the basing of my pulp collection and redoing my wild west also, i will probably be working on some new terrain for some encounters for the new D&D sessions, hopefully get another temple box set from Tenfold Dungeon, and also collect some scatter terrain pieces for the middle east and wild west collection i already have. but for now i only got a few D&D characters painted. a dragonborn sorceress is cornered by a group of jackalweres.   another dragonborn spellcaster for an upcoming D&D campaign. this time around i am in the process of painting several dragonborns but as black and blue dragonborns with a few in and there of other colors. i do indeed need to get a few other different style of dragonborns as metallic dragonborns. need to balance out...
