several more misc. miniatures for D&D

was on vacation last week and got to a point where i got a bit bored.
in the middle of that boredom i was watching a few episodes of DMScotty on Youtube
and started to have the creative juices flowing once again.
saw a video on how to make your very own gelatinous cube and thought well
i got some time on my hands maybe i'll give it a go and try to make one.

group of heroic adventurers finds a gelatinous cube in a sunken temple.

using the instructions in DMScotty's video i mae my a little bit bigger because i
used a common land  card from my Magic: the Gathering collection,
in case for some reason the card got damaged.

the cude is about 2inch x 2inch and roughly 3 or so inches higher,
easily able to cover enough space to trap (depending on miniatures) two to three,
maybe four depending on how the miniatures are sculpted.

awhile ago i was given some extra miniatures from the
Mythic Games Solomon Kane: Against the Vampire box set.
i took the giant snake from it and gave it a quick paint job since it became a last minute
end boss npc for a small Dungeons and Dragons session i ran for
Rita's youngest and his one friend who was also interested in D&D.

also painted another little toy snake.
this time a yellow color toy, i went and did black striped which i never did before,
because i didn't think i would do it right.
but i gave it a go and i reckon it came out pretty well.
so now i have a giant red snake and a yellow striped giant snake.

finished converting my blue snake men from 3mm to 1.5mm bases to match
my other fantasy miniatures.
been thinking on expanding on these and getting another box of them,
but still on the fence. maybe next year, if they're still available.

i apologize for touting about the temple set i got recently but i can't help it.
late last week i was asked by Rita if i would run a small D&D session for her boy
and his friend at her house,
and i said sure but i didn't know what to take since all D&D sessions are held at
my house since all my stuff to here.

so earlier that day i wrote up a small scenario and gathered what figures i needed.
the little scatter terrain pieces and dice i also needed would fit nicely in the spare
spaces in the boxes in the temple set.
and then i was set to go.
only had to carry off two things the temple box and small of figures.
much love for this item.

more to come....

  1. Great stuff. The black and yellow stripes work very well on the snake, and prove that toys can make great D&D minis. I've got quite a collection of miscellaneous toys that I used when I got to play face to face.
And well done for introducing a new generation to the wonderful game.

    1. thanks, I found more snakes and been making more trips in the dollar stores just to look at the cheap toys.
I lost count now on how many "intro" games I've done now for the younger folks, but it's fun and that's the greatest take away I get from D&D.
