Nyarlathotep
when i started collecting pulp figures and such few years ago,
one of the stories i wanted to tell through tabletop wargaming were the
tales of H.P. Lovecraft and the cosmic horrors he created.
so after much sitting on the idea of actually getting a figure i came across a
shop on Etsy.com that had several Lovecraftian creatures.
so i placed an order with TranscendentalPrints.
and within eight days i had in my hands on of the best 3-d printed figures
i have ever seen.

and i went with a 75mm tall.
it would have made him look more dominate on the tabletop.
but from past experiences with resin i had to wash the model
with hot water and soap,
but with this i literally took it from the shipping package to spray primer on it
and then paint it like so.
i went with the slapchop painting method because i wanted to get it down quick.
parts and up along to the top with some layers of pinks.
for the bottom section of the figure i wasn't sure what to do.
in the end i went with a dark blue and layered it up with some lighter shades of blue.
blending it in the middle so i didn't have a certain cut off of the colors in between.
this all came out.
might have to look into more to be made.
I love anything Mythos, and this is a great sculpt. It reminds me of the Cult of the Bloody Tongue from Masks of Nyarlathotep.
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting.
Have you seen the Cthulhu Wars minis?
I have seen the Cthulhu Wars figures and they are very cool. my personal favs are the ones that come from the Death May Die board game, quite possibly might just buy another copy of that just for the figs.
DeleteThanks for the heads up about TranscendentalPrints - I'll be ordering from them soon to bolster my monster collection for Majestic 13.
ReplyDeleteohh that would be cool, they do have some pretty awesome monster prints and such.
